Dear Sir,
I would like to present a report on my job, what I have achieved and am going to do. Thank you for reading it.
1.What did I do in the last half year? (July - December, 98)
A. Produced a drawing of the Haa exchange area.
I visited Haa for 2 days in August
1998, and surveyed the new local cable routes, lengths, and DP-Box sites.
After I came back to Thimphu I produced a drawing. A copy is included with
this report.
B. Collected region diagrams.
I tried to collect region diagrams
in order to attach them to a Local Network Map of Bhutan, which I am making.
As a result I received 4 region diagrams, Tongsa, Jakar, Samdrup-Jongkhar,
and Pemagatsel, which cover 2 areas.
C. Produced a drawing of underground information
in Thimphu.
As per a request of the Public Works Division
I produced a map detailing the underground information for a specific part
of Thimphu. A copy is included with this report.
D. Producing a Local Network Map of Bhutan.
I am producing a Local Network
Map of Bhutan, particularly Thimphu Distribution Point Box chart and Thimphu
exchange MDF system drawing. A copy is included with this report.
2.What am I going to do for final half year? (January - June, 99)
I am going to make an effort to complete the Local Network Map of Bhutan by the end of March. It will consist of 200 pages and have the following contents.
A. Thimphu Outside Plant Map ( 48 pages
)
This will be a basic
map to indicate the outside of theexchange, for instance how the cables
are going from the exchange to the Distribution Point Box, where the cables
are buried, and where the exact DP-Boxes are placed.
B. Thimphu Cabinet detail information drawing
( 34 pages )
This will show the inside
of the Cabinets.
C. Thimphu Joint Box detail information
drawing ( 30 pages )
This will show the inside
of the Joint Boxes and the Primary Cables.
D. Thimphu Primary Cable system drawing
( 12 pages )
This will detail Primary
Cable information.
E. Thimphu underground pipe drawing ( 4 pages )
F. Thimphu Distribution Point Box chart
( 10 pages )
This will detail one
by one each DP-Box.
G. Thimphu exchange MDF room system drawing
( 4 pages )
This will show the arrangement
of terminals in the MDF room in the exchange.
H. Outside Plant Maps of the suburbs of
Thimphu ( 8 pages )
These will consist of
4 maps covering Simtokha, Lungtenphu, Taba, and Dechencholing.
I. Region diagrams of Bhutan ( 38 pages
)
These will consist of 8 region
diagrams, Paro, Punakha, Wangdue-Phodrang, Haa, Tongsa, Jakar, Samdrup-Jongkha,
and Pemagatshel exchange areas.
J. Cable Colourcode charts ( 5 pages )
These will show the two kinds
of cable, Indian switchboard cable colourcode, and Japanese cable colourcode.
K. Others ( 7 pages )
These will include a table
of contents, recommendation, and comments.
I feel that it is important to keep an exact record
as detailed above for the Division of Telecommunications. Because the amount
ofequipment of the local network is increasing day by day, without any
record, nobody will be able to plan the next project for the next generation.
I suppose that a human's memory can not be used for planning because of
its limit.
I also feel that it is necessary for every OSP
staff to have such information. It is useful to have for construction,
maintenance, searching, planning, and understanding.
For these reasons, I am going to make an effort
to consider the OSPstaff's needs. I would like as many people as possible
to read it and understand more the existing local network systems.
After completing the original prints, I will
give a print shop an order for the 120 copies of presswork and bookbinding,
and hope to distribute all to the executives and all the OSP staff in the
Division of Telecommunications.
